Someone Turned 5 in July Part 2

After a fun filled day at Disneyland, we drove home.  Grams and Poppy drove over on Saturday, July 14th.  We had dinner with Addison's friend's family.  Addison's friend spent the night.  They watched a movie, had Mani and pedis.  Then they were put to bed.   This was Addison's friend's first sleepover, so she didn't want to fall right to sleep.  Of course Addison bought into this.  I tried to be patient, but finally I was firm and made them sleep.  I had a party to get ready for...

Once the girls were asleep, I put up the decorations and made the house party friendly.

 

In the morning the girls were surprised by the transformation of the house.  It was a fun party.  The kids decorated a bug/fairy house, and a bug.  The theme of Addison's party was Tinker Belle. 

There was a pinata.  All the kids went took a swing or two, or three, or four.  Then Jon and I tried.  It was one strong pinata...

 

 

Addison had a great time and so did her friends!  Thank you to everyone who helped celebrate Addison's 5th birthday.  I am grateful for each and everyone of you! 

 

 

 

 

 

Someone Turned Five in July!

The balloon fairy brought her a five balloon!  We opened a few gifts and then went to Disneyland.  She said she wanted to spend the day in Disneyland and have Mickey and Minnie sing to her.  We had cake and had Mickey and Minnie sing to her.

We had a great day in Disneyland and California Adventure.  We were not able to ride the new Cars ride, but we did have this awesome picture taken!  Thank you to the cast members that helped make such a cool memory! 

Addison had a great day!

 

 

 

The day after her birthday she had a friend spend the night and her Grams and Poppy came in.  The girls had their nails and feet painted at the baby pedi salon.  They had a great time!  It was the first time her friend's first sleep over.

Ready for Kindergarten

Addison is all registered for Kindergarten.  She has all her shots and I have filled out all the paperwork.  She is super excited to go to school at my school.  She is so excited she even puts on her Wildcat shirt.

The other day while she was "helping" me clean up my classroom she asked if she could be in my class.  I told her no, would she like to be in my class.  She told me yes.  I then told her that she would have to call my by my teacher name.  She said she only wanted to call me Momma. 

Her last day at Mrs. Stacie's was Friday, June 1st.  Mrs Stacie is a wonderful teacher and I am glad that Addison was able to spend time with her.
 

Addison learned about different habitats, weather, and plants when she was at Mrs. Stacie's.  Addison enjoyed her time with Mrs. Stacie!  Thank you Mrs. Stacie!

Cupcake Lip Balm

They looked something like this.

Today (2/9/12) we went out to dinner with Uncle Clint.  A yummy Cajun barbecue place.  We had a nice dinner.  We then went to Michael's to get a smock for Addison.  As we were checking out at the register there were some cute cupcake lip balms.  Of course Addison thought they were cute and needed one. She asked and I told her we have some at home, she then told me that she didn't know were they were.  I told her I did and that is all that matters.   I then told her to put it back.  I thought she did.  She went to grab the items we were purchasing, I told her to wait for the cashier to put it in the bag and then she could carry the bag.  Pulling out of the parking lot Addison pulls out the lip balm.  I was horrified!  I knew I did not pay for the cupcake.  I had Jon stop the car, I took the lip balm and took it back inside.  The lady at the counter said hi to me, I then told her my daughter took this and put it back on the counter.  Looking back I wish I would have had her return it and tell the lady she was sorry. 

When I got back to the car Jon was telling Addison she would go to bed as soon as we got home.  On the way home there was threatening with jail, how horrible it was to do something taking things without paying.  Once we dropped off Uncle Clint and arrived home Jon told me to hold on before I got her ready for a shower.  He made her tell her grandparents what she did.  After her shower she did not want to get ready for bed, because she did not want to go to bed.  She went to bed crying.  I think she cried herself to sleep. 

I hope we don't have to deal with this again! 

Four and a half

Today Addison has been with us for 4 1/2 years.  It is hard to believe that she has been with us that long.  It seems like yesterday. 

Today she had to say goodbye to a beloved teacher, Mrs. Gail.  Mrs. Gail has enjoyed Addison since she was going to the CDC (Child Development Center) twice a week, when Addison was only going hourly.  Back in March Addison started going full time.  They closed that room and Addison went into Mrs. Gail's room.  I am not sure who was more excited Addison or Mrs. Gail.  Due to budget cuts Addison was dropped from the CDC, and we had to find another place for her to go while Jon and I are at work. 

Today when I went to pick up Addison Mrs. Gail made me cry.  She gave me a great big hug.  Then she gave Addison a big hug.  It makes me feel good that my daughter has made an impression on someone as special as Mrs. Gail. 

Thank you, Mrs Gail for everything.  Addison will miss you!
